The ISP and operator challenge
EON Technology supplies ISP transceivers for every layer an operator runs: 1G/10G BiDi and GPON optics at the access, 10G/25G aggregation and 100G core, all with compatibility validated by model, firmware, port and optical part number. One multivendor source replaces a separate price list per platform vendor.
An Internet service provider operates several layers (access, aggregation, distribution and core), each with its own speeds and distances. Optics account for a meaningful share of CAPEX and OPEX, so the balance between cost, compatibility and availability is decisive, without being tied to a single manufacturer.
Typical architecture and where the optics fit
- Access / OLT: 1G with SFP and 10G with SFP+, frequently BiDi to occupy a single fiber per subscriber or link.
- Aggregation: 10G/25G with SFP+/SFP28 toward the distribution nodes.
- Distribution / core: 100G with QSFP28; long-haul transport with DWDM.
For the subscriber layer in detail, see FTTx access network solutions; for the city ring between POPs, see metro network solutions.
Recommended transceivers
- SFP modules (1G) and SFP+ modules (10G) for access and aggregation, including the 1G BiDi and 10G BiDi product families.
- QSFP28 modules (100G) for core and high-capacity links.
Before ordering, have at hand the platform model and firmware at each layer, the port type, the fiber and distance per link, and the target optical part number. With that we confirm compatibility and whether the platform needs recoding. Operators that grow by acquiring smaller networks often end up with MikroTik, Huawei, Cisco and Juniper platforms in the same ring; a single multivendor supplier with one compatibility matrix keeps spares interchangeable across brands and shortens fault recovery.
Why EON Technology
We work with ISPs and operators on multivendor optics and compatibility validated by model, firmware, port and optical part number for the main network platforms, from MikroTik and Huawei at the access to Cisco and Juniper in the core. Some platforms report third-party optics as unsupported; when yours does, transceiver recoding adapts and validates the module, with 90-day service coverage. You get significant savings against the OEM part and engineering support before and after purchase, backed by a 1- to 5-year product warranty. EON serves Latin America and Spain from a centralized operation in Colombia. Schedule a proof of concept, review the compatibility matrix or talk to an engineer. If you also integrate or resell infrastructure for third parties, ask us about the partner program, with volume margins and sales material.
